Yellow-browed warbler, Brevig

Finally this afternoon we caught up with a yellow-browed warbler at Brevig (photo © Bruce Taylor). It was very skulking and didn't call at all but nice to get it under our belts. I always struggle with yellow-browed warblers.

Perhaps bird of the day for me though was this stonking pale-bellied brent goose on Traigh Mhor, my first of the autumn. Apparently there is a wintering flock of about 90 birds here, so hopefully more will follow in the coming days.

Highlight of the day though was a pod of five bottlenose dolphins in the Sound of Barra which we watched from the jetty at Eoligarry.  They put on a great display, breaching and spyhopping for around 20 minutes or more.

There's a yellow-browed warbler in there somewhere. Willow scrub at Brevig.

Earlier we'd been to Vatersay and had a decent mornings birding and had a nice view of an otter.
