Black-necked grebe, Lapwing Hall Pool, Chelford

The long staying black-necked grebe still on Lapwing Hall Pool today, along with at least 146 wigeon.

Year: 140 (Black-necked grebe)

If I'm honest I'd have to say I've seen better black-necked grebe photos, but I refuse to call it a record shot....

Plagiothecium undulatum growing at the side of the footpath through the woods to the pool. One of the easiest bryophytes to identify.

Polytrichum formosum.
