No birding holiday to Cyprus is complete without a trip to the Troodos
mountains to see a few of the islands endemic subspecies, specifically the
coal tit, short-toed treecreeper and jay. Today I managed to see them all
pretty easily
Jays are pretty easy to see around Troodos village, in many respects they are the Magpie of Troodos, fearlessly coming to exploit anything left behind by humans.
Coal tits have darker underparts than their cousins on the mainland.
I'm not sure what the difference is between Cyprus short-toed treecreeper and those on the mainland.
