Ring Ouzel at Glen in 14819mph winds

This afternoon we found a cracking 1st winter male ring ouzel at Glen, initially flushed from a ditch at the side of the road. Glen is a good place for seeing this species when they pass through Barra, and last year we saw a male here. Also at Glen we had adult white-tailed and golden eagles overhead. Brambling at Northbay was another highlight, an island tick for us.

It was a challenging day on Barra, with 14819mph north easterly winds.... errr no, the forecast was wrong, the winds were actually a more manageable 18mph. The crazy thing is that the BBC weather forecast describes 14819mph as hurricane force. Perhaps it's only hurricane force on Jupiter, but on earth if the wind blew at that speed we'd all be somewhere in North America now 😆.
It was actually quite a pleasant day, and at least we avoided the overnight 404°C that was forecast for some parts of the UK last night.....
