A major twitch on Barra today when a first for the island turned up in the
shape of a cattle egret. Strangely it wasn't on the machair grasslands in
amongst the cattle, it was on Castlebay football pitch in the middle of the
town next to the co-op with herring gulls!
This is presumably the same bird that was on Tiree two days ago when it became just the second record for that island.
