Stac Pollaidh

In recent years I've spent a couple of weeks in the Ullapool area, but this year I decided to stay at Gairloch instead, just for a change. However, that's still only a two hour drive to Stac Pollaidh and since Elaine had never climbed it before we headed over that way today.

The views to the south on the way up of Ben mor Coigach and Loch Lurgainn are magnificent.

However in my opinion it's the views from the north side which are truly breathtaking, looking over the vast wilderness that is Inverpolly towards mighty Suilven.

Whilst to the west you can see the Summer Isles and even Point of Stoer lighthouse.

The views to the east are pretty good as well, looking towards Cul Beag in the clouds.
