Slimbridge WWT

Amazingly only my third ever visit to Slimbridge and the first for over 20 years. We went hoping to see a semi-palmated sandpiper which didn't show today, but we did see a spoonbill and six common cranes from the Great Crane re-introduction program. These included a wild bred juvenile, one of the first three to fledge. As we watched, two adult cranes flew in and landed and began dancing. I'm not sure if this would be display at this time of year or just some dispute, but it was an impressive sight. Also today, 1000 golden plover, 10 European white-fronted geese and a green sandpiper.
