River Dee, Holt

Quail singing in cereal fields south of the A534 this afternoon. The river here has some scarce species of dragonfly, namely club-tailed dragonfly and white-legged damselfly, but we were unable to find either. We did however find several banded demoiselles and some ringlet butterflies.

Male banded demoiselle flicking its wings.

Ringlet.

Six-spot burnet moth.
