Acting on information received in an email from Ste Bond yesterday evening, I took a detour to work this morning and called in at Clipsey Lane, Haydock, where there was a flock of 40 Waxwings feeding in a tree opposite the Spar shop.
Anybody getting bored with Waxwings this winter? Hand in your binoculars if the answer is yes!
I called in again on my way home. I didn't see any birds opposite Spar, but there were at least 2 Waxwings near the entrance to Tescos. There may have been more, but there was a lot of traffic and I couldn't take my eyes off the road and couldn't easily stop.
