Billinge Hill

Wheatear 6 (4 in the horse paddock area)
Peregrine 1 adult over the beacon
Snipe 1 over the beacon
Grey Wagtail 2
Lesser Black Back Gull 100+ heading south in small groups
House Martin 70+ flying south west in one flock over beacon
Sand Martin 1
Yellowhammer 40
Goldfinch 40
Buzzard 1
Sparrowhawk 2
Great Spotted Woodpecker 1 over beacon


I don't know much about toadstools, but Fly Agaric is one of my favourites.

Hi, there were a couple of wheatears on the hill when i was there this morning mostly down at the bottom near to the concrete posts.Luckily i got quite a good photo of one.Flocks of pink footed geese flew over about 1/2 mile away to the west.And i too saw that red toadstool off one of the paths leading from Billinge plants.However i also found a small,penny sized toadstool/mushroom(but it may not have been either) on the hill.It was whitish and covered with tiny little brown projections that were shaped almost like 4 leaf clovers.It didnt have a stalk so was flat on the ground.When i pressed on it it was spongy in texture!Any idea what it could be?Id upload a pic but dont know how!
