The Mersey's cracking Kumlien's gull is back for it's third winter and is now an adult. Today it was again on the roof of WSR recycling in Widnes. It's quite a subtle Kumlien's and there has been some confusion because BirdGuides persisted in putting it out as a 3rd winter bird, which it clearly isn't. Unfortunately in the absence of a 3rd winter Kumlien's, some observers have seen this bird and called it an adult Iceland due to it's less than classic Kumlien's features. If you see what I mean 😆🤦♂️
