Surf scoter 2 mm
Velvet scoter 50+
Common scoter 3000
Eider 500
Red-breasted merganser 10
Sanderling 200
Cetaceans: 2 bottle-nosed dolphins
It was a much calmer day today, so with high tide at about 7pm it seemed a good opportunity to go back to Blackdog. The surf scoter showed exceptionally well, even better than yesterday. I estimated that the flock was about 250m offshore. Compare that to how I normally see them off Llandulas or Abergele, when they seem more like 2.5 miles offshore!
