Haydock Park Racecourse

A single Little Ringed Plover was on the gravel car park at Haydock Park Racecourse this evening. This is a species which a few years back was increasing dramatically, but these days they seem to have stalled and perhaps even declined. A great bird, it's a few years since I last saw one in St Helens.
